Editorial Standards and Research Methodology

The rules we use to make public research attributable, current, and correctable.

Effective

Scope and purpose

These standards apply to public research, market analysis, company commentary, glossary entries, comparisons, and educational articles published by KnowYourCompany.ai. Our goal is to make each factual claim understandable, attributable, and reviewable without presenting research as investment advice.

Product and company pages may describe our services. Research pages are held to the sourcing, review, freshness, and corrections standards below.

Authorship and review

Every long-form article identifies the person accountable for its content. Author profiles describe relevant roles and areas of expertise. Legacy articles may identify only an author; they are not retroactively represented as having a separate reviewer.

Automated market articles will not be published until an accountable human reviewer is recorded. The reviewer checks the central question, material facts, figures, source coverage, uncertainty language, and headline before approval.

Sources and citations

We prefer primary sources: BSE, NSE, SEBI, company filings, investor materials, official transcripts, regulatory orders, and government publications. Credible reporting may supply context, but it does not replace an available primary source for a material factual claim.

A time-sensitive market article must have either a relevant primary source or corroboration from at least two independent credible sources. Material numbers, quotations, dates, and company actions must resolve to visible citations. If the evidence is insufficient or contradictory, we say what is unknown or do not publish.

AI assistance and human accountability

We may use language models to retrieve documents, organize questions, compare disclosures, summarize sources, and prepare drafts. AI output is not itself a source. It cannot approve or publish public market research without the required validation and human review.

The named author and reviewer remain accountable for the published page. Claims that cannot be traced to the cited evidence are removed, qualified, or held back.

Freshness and as-of dates

Time-sensitive pages state when the event was detected, the information cutoff used for analysis, and the publication or update time. An “as of” timestamp is a boundary on the evidence reviewed, not a promise that no later information exists.

Material later information results in a visible update, correction, or retraction. We do not silently change the meaning of an article while leaving its dates unchanged.

Conflicts and independence

Authors and reviewers must disclose financial, professional, commercial, or close personal interests that could reasonably affect the subject. A material conflict must be disclosed on the page or assigned to an independent reviewer; where that is not sufficient, we do not publish.

Commercial relationships do not permit a customer, issuer, or partner to alter a research conclusion. Sponsored or paid material must be labelled and kept distinct from editorial research.

Corrections and questions

Our Corrections Policy explains how to report an issue and how updates, corrections, and retractions are recorded.
